Guide for an adult passport renewal (PC7 form)
Eligibility:
You must be 18 years or over and have a passport that:
- was issued when you were aged 16 or older
- was issued on or after 1 January 2006
- when it was issued, had at least two years’ validity
- has your current name, date of birth, place of birth and gender, and
- has not been reported lost, stolen, or cancelled.

If you answer no to any of these questions, you are not eligible to use this form. Please see Passport Services and select the appropriate link.
Instructions
1. Complete your renewal application form online
- The application must be lodged within six months of completion.
2. Print and sign your application form
- Print your application on plain white A4 paper. Make sure your form has printed in full and isn't cut off at the top or bottom of the page.
- Sign the form using black pen, within the signature box. Make sure there are no alterations or whiteout on the signature or the date.
3. Photos
- Obtain two identical colour photos that meet Australian passport photo standards. The photos must be taken within six months of submitting the application.
- Write your full name on the back of one photo. Please do NOT attach the photos to the form as this may damage them.
- Photos must not be edited in any way, including any background removal or brightening. Photos with unnatural or removed/edited backgrounds will be rejected.
- Ask the photographer to email you the original unedited photo.
4. Lodge you application
Option 1: Mail your application to us

- Mail your completed application form and passport photos to:

Phnom Penh - Once the application can be accepted, we will email you with payment instructions.
Option 2: Lodge in person by appointment
- Bring your previous passport to your appointment
to lodge in person- You will need to make payment at time of appiontment. Please read our information regarding fees.
5. We'll tell you when your passport is ready
- We will email you when your passport has arrived at the Embassy. You may come and collect it, or if you previously arranged for a courier to return it to you, they can collect it. Please allow a minimum of 6 weeks from payment for your application to be completed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I travel on my current passport while I wait for my new passport to arrive?
Yes, your current passport will remain valid until you are issued with your replacement.
Do I send my current passport with the renewal application?
No.
Do I need to send a copy of my passport with my application?
No.
How will I know if the Embassy has received my application?
Once your application has been received and confirmed to be fully completed, the Embassy will email instructions on how to complete payment.
How long will it take?
Passports are currently taking around six weeks from receipt of a fully completed application and payment to arrive at the Embassy. Incomplete applications will cause delays.
What if I need to travel urgently, but already mailed in my renewal application?

Will the Embassy post my new passport to me?
No, the Embassy will not mail your new passport to you. You will need to collect the new passport in person at the Embassy, or organise a third party or courier service to collect it on your behalf. Please note that if you organise a third party or courier to collect your passport, you will need to advise the Embassy in advance and provide the name and ID for the individual who is collecting the passport. Once the new passport is collected, the Embassy is no longer responsible for any loss or damage to the document.
My passport has expired. Can I still renew it by mail?
If you meet all of the eligibility criteria for a PC7 renewal form, then yes, you can renew your passport by mail even if it has expired.
